8bitfuture: Nevada approves “Robot Drivers License” law. From March 1 this year if you see a red license plate in Nevada, it means the driver is a robot! Pushed through mainly for Google’s robotic car program, AB511 will allow automated vehicles to legally drive on all roads, provided they meet the regulations of the new law. That includes paying a US$1-3 million insurance bond per car, and providing a detailed report on what is being tested in each car. The automated vehicles will have red plates, and once the research is complete the cars will be issued neon green plates - meaning they are fully licensed to self-drive. Via Zoom
